Castor Statement on Small Business Relief Act

“We have listened to our small business owners.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Kathy Castor released the following statement today regarding the Small Business Tax Relief Act, which is being considered in the House today:
“We have listened to our small business owners. They are concerned about a rule that would have required more paperwork if they buy more than $600 in goods and services from a vendor in a year. Approximately 60 percent to 80 percent of new jobs are created by small businesses, so the more resources small business owners can devote to expanding their business the better for job creation.
“The Small Business Tax Relief Act eliminates this reporting requirement, and can allow small businesses to focus even more on expanding the economy of our community. To offset the cost, the bill reduces incentives to large multinational corporations to ship jobs overseas. We will be punishing big businesses for exporting jobs from America while lessening the burden on small businesses so they can create more jobs in our community, state and America. That’s a winning proposition.” |
