To help prepare the next generation of public servants, my office offers two internship programs, one in my District Offices in Tampa and St. Petersburg and the other in my Washington, D.C. Office, both run throughout the spring, summer and fall semesters.

Our Tampa and St. Petersburg Office internship provides students with unmatched experience in meaningful work, such as responding to constituent inquiries, learning about federal policymaking and the impact of federal policies on our Tampa Bay community, undertaking administrative duties, working with caseworkers, and assisting with media and community events.

Our Washington, D.C. Office interns will learn about the inner workings of the legislative process and how the federal government operates. This office offers both legislative and press internship opportunities. The legislative internship duties include, but are not limited to, researching legislation, drafting memos and attending committee hearings and briefings. Press internship duties include compiling press clips, creating digital content and drafting social media content.

Our internship programs are open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent college graduates, regardless of major. Additionally, interns may arrange to receive academic credit for their internships. Candidates who are chosen for the Washington, DC Office will be responsible for paying for their travel and living expenses. However, interns may apply for one of our limited financial-need based stipends which are allocated on a case-by-case basis pending availability.
