Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor Judge Paul W. Danahy’s Jr.’s 90th birthday. A member of my hometown of Tampa and the state of Florida’s Greatest Generation, Judge Danahy is one of the longest-serving members on Florida’s Second District Court of Appeals. As a legislator, judge, and assistant Attorney General, Judge Danahy earned a reputation for working tirelessly when providing service to others, and for “gaining the respect of all with whom he served.”

Udall, Castor, 170 Members of Congress Introduce Resolution Calling for Pruitt’s Resignation

Today, U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and U.S. Representative Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) led a group of 170 members of Congress in introducing companion resolutions in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives formally calling on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt to resign. The resolution comes in response to Pruitt’s repeated ethics violations, misuse of taxpayer dollars, and actions that fundamentally undermine the mission of the EPA – favoring big polluters at the expense of science, our environment, and the health of children and families.

Four Energy and Commerce Democratic leaders sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Inspector General (IG) Arthur Elkins, Jr. today requesting that his office open an investigation focusing on whether EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has misused or abused his position to inappropriately enrich himself or his family members and whether EPA’s political leadership applied political pressure on Agency ethics officials.
