U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, Chair of the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, released the statement below following the announcement of the appointment of Republican members to the Committee:

"I look forward to working with Ranking Member Garret Graves and all of the Republican members to tackle the climate crisis.  Americans from all backgrounds and walks of life are urging policy makers to act boldly and build a clean energy economy, and avoid the worst and costly impacts of the changing climate.  Mr. Graves represents a state and district that is bearing the brunt of costly change, just as my district and the state of Florida are already feeling the impacts. These impacts do not discriminate based on political party. We don't have time to waste. The good news is that climate solutions, from deploying more clean energy to making our homes and businesses more energy efficient, enjoy broad bipartisan support."
