U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor Announces New Communications Director

Today, U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL-14) announced that Jay Rhoden has joined Castor’s office as Communications Director.

Jay Rhoden began his career in public service as an intern in Rep. Castor’s Tampa and DC offices while attending the University of South Florida. Following his internships, Jay worked in Rep. Castor’s Washington, D.C. office full-time as Staff Assistant before joining the communications team to lead Castor’s online profile as Digital Assistant. Most recently, Jay served as Congresswoman Debbie Dingell’s (MI-06) Digital Press Secretary.

“Over the past few years, I have had the chance to watch Jay find his passion for public service, grow his communication skills, and become a hard-working team member,” said Castor. “I’m happy to have Jay rejoin our team, where he will put his skills and knowledge of the Tampa Bay community to work communicating on issues like lowering health care costs, creating jobs, addressing the climate crisis to protect our environment for future generations.”

Rep. Castor supports robust and diverse ways for Tampa Bay neighbors to connect directly with her, including on social media, at frequent in-person events and telephone town halls, and in a weekly email newsletter on the latest news out of Washington, D.C.

All future press inquiries should be sent to Jay Rhoden at jay.rhoden@mail.house.gov or (202) 225-3376.
