Rep. Castor Statement on Historic Confirmation of SCOTUS Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson
Washington,
April 7, 2022
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson arrives on the U.S. Supreme Court at a pivotal moment when her intellect and skill are needed to fairly tackle cases involving equal rights, clean air, the costly climate crisis, and personal privacy and autonomy. She is eminently qualified to do so. Floridians can take great pride in the fact that she hails from the Sunshine State and has won the confidence of a broad cross section of America and legal experts. A working mother and the first Black woman to serve on the Court, Justice Jackson will provide great inspiration to a new generation of Americans who believe that hard work and service to others are essential to strengthen American democracy and abide by the guarantees of liberty under the U.S. Constitution. |
