“Once more, Governor DeSantis is pushing inaccurate and dangerous anti-vaccine policies that could put Florida children and families at risk. Dr. Ladapo, Florida’s Surgeon General, knows that children age 5-17 can avoid severe illness & hospitalization from Covid19 with the safe, effective vaccine & boosters. As we mark the solemn milestone of over 6 million lives lost to Covid19, Governor DeSantis is making false and dangerous accusations, as he has done throughout the pandemic. Governor DeSantis hid data and death information from Floridians. He yelled at children when they chose to wear masks last week. He withheld Covid19 emergency aid from schools and students. When the going got tough, he failed Floridians and it likely costs lives. “I urge Florida parents to continue to follow the advice of scientists and health experts, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, so that we can keep healthy children healthy. We know that vaccines work – for children and adults alike. As co-chair of the Children’s Health Care Caucus, I will continue working to ensure that parents across America have access to accurate scientific and health information to best serve the needs of their children.” |
