Today U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL14) helped lead her Democratic colleagues in a protest on the U.S. House floor against the cruel Trump-GOP family separation policy, a new policy that separates families at our borders and uses their pain as leverage to enact divisive immigration changes that would only inflict further harm on our country, a nation of immigrants.

“This is a new policy,” U.S. Rep. Castor said on the House floor. “It is legal to request asylum in the United States of America, but under this new Trump policy – that is so cruel and so horrible – he is trying to send a message to the rest of the world that this is an anti-immigrant country. We are not!”
