U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL14) released the following statement regarding the announcement that EPA Administrator Pruitt would begin unwinding the Clean Power Plan and its carbon pollution reduction goals:

“This is going to hit American families right in the pocketbook.  The costs of carbon pollution and the changing climate are rising rapidly for consumers.  Sixteen of the hottest years on record have happened over the last 17 years, and air conditioning bills, insurance costs and health impacts are rising right along with temperatures.  Powerful hurricanes, killer wildfires and other extreme weather events should be a wake-up call to the Trump Administration.  Instead, Trump charts an anti-science, anti-innovation course that will heap costs on families, cost us clean energy jobs and cede America's leadership in the world.”
