MARK YOUR CALENDAR: U.S. Rep. Castor Hosts Academy Day 10/14/2017

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL14) will hold her annual Academy Day on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at MacDill AFB (Davis Conference Center, Bldg. 359, 2101 Florida Keys Ave.) where she will connect high school students with representatives from the U.S. Service Academies.

“One of my greatest honors as your representative in the U.S. Congress is to nominate bright young men and women from the 14th Congressional District to our prestigious U.S. Service Academies such as West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy,” said U.S. Rep. Castor. “Each year, many young men and women from the Tampa Bay area are accepted into our Service Academies and commit to serve America. However, many students and families are unaware of the opportunities for fully-paid tuition and expenses as part of a career of service. These high school students and families should attend my Academy Day at MacDill AFB to learn more. Join me at my upcoming Academy Day to learn about the congressional nomination process, meet with representatives from our nation’s service academies and more.”

Academy Day is as an information session where students and parents can meet with recruiters and others, such as current cadets, to learn about the nomination process into a U.S. Service Academy. Last year, more than 100 attended this important event. Because MacDill Air Force Base is a closed base, each person who wishes to attend, including student, parent, guardian and others must RSVP to U.S. Rep. Castor’s office by Oct. 10, 2017 at 813-871-2817 or by RSVPing at castor.house.gov.
