More passport offices planned to open in Tampa

The U.S. State Department advised U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor yesterday that plans are underway to open more passport application acceptance facilities in Tampa and St. Petersburg to supplement the four acceptance facilities that operate in this region. This comes in response to concerns expressed by U.S. Rep. Castor about unacceptable customer wait times at the Tampa Airport Post Office after visiting the passport acceptance facility earlier this month.
The U.S. State Department advised U.S. Rep. This comes in response to concerns expressed by U.S. Rep. Castor about unacceptable customer wait times at the Tampa Airport Post Office after visiting the passport acceptance facility earlier this month.

“It is not unusual for individuals and families to wait all day at that location for passport processing,” U.S. Rep. Castor stated in her letter sent May 9. “This is extremely disruptive to my neighbors who work and attend school and I respectfully request that the Department develop a plan of action to decrease wait times and improve customer service for passport services, especially during the upcoming ‘passport surge.’”
