Today, U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL14) urged House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan and House Energy & Commerce Committee Chair Rep. Fred Upton to disband the Select Panel to Attack Women’s Health, which targets Planned Parenthood without justification. In her letter to them, she wrote that this witch hunt against Planned Parenthood and women’s health is a “political stunt” and “waste of taxpayer money.” Furthermore, she wrote: “We need look no further than the horrific tragedy that occurred in Colorado Springs last week to understand how such a provocative speech can lead to great harm. I respectfully request that you end this unnecessary and harmful attack on women’s health that will most surely lead to further incendiary rhetoric and who knows what else.” ###
