Tampa Bay receives $5.9M navigator grant -- largest in the nation

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (D-Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL) announced that the University of South Florida will once again receive the largest “navigator” grant in the nation from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to assist families and consumers shop and enroll in the health insurance marketplace. USF was awarded $5,912,400, an increase of more than $500,000 over last year’s grant amount. U.S. Rep. Castor released the following statement regarding this grant award:

U.S. Rep. USF was awarded $5,912,400, an increase of more than $500,000 over last year’s grant amount. U.S. Rep. Castor released the following statement regarding this grant award:

“USF and its trusted and independent team of navigators have established a successful model for the nation to follow and as a result helped Florida lead the nation last year in the number of sign-ups for the Affordable Care Act. This grant will build upon on our past successful enrollment efforts to assist consumers in selecting the best quality, health care plan for themselves and their families.”

In addition, Pinellas County received a navigator grant of $580,000.
