Many Floridians Qualify for Health Insurance Rebates

“Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, we are holding insurance companies accountable. Insurance companies are required to put patients over profits and spend at least 80 percent of premiums on health care.

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor released the following statement today regarding health care insurance rebates for Floridians:

“Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, we are holding insurance companies accountable. Insurance companies are required to put patients over profits and spend at least 80 percent of premiums on health care. Insurance companies that haven’t met this standard must provide their customers a rebate. More than 1.2 million Florida residents will benefit from $123.6 million in rebates from insurance companies, putting money back into our economy. It is too bad that Gov. Scott is so adamantly opposed to the Affordable Care Act and measures like this, which put money back in the pockets of Floridians. It appears to me he would rather side with insurance companies over Floridians.”
