This list reflects U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor’s grassroots experience. As an environmental lawyer and Hillsborough County Commissioner, Castor uses her grassroots knowledge and experience to continue to fight for Hillsborough, Pinellas and Manatee counties. She has worked on these issues directly with her neighbors: health care, education, the environment/energy independence and community/economic development.

WWII Vet Gets Cluster Of Honors

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa, helped Rosado obtain the Army Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and World War II Victory Medal, among others. The congressional office also secured several foreign honors, including the Belgian Fourragere, the Dutch Orange Lanyard and a Thank You America certificate from France.

Haley and USF will study injuries like those suffered by troops in explosions. At a news conference outside Haley, Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa, said she recently inserted language in the National Defense Authorization Act that gives the Haley-USF partnership "a leg up" in getting some of that $450-million.

"We're here to celebrate the progress that has been made through the HOPE VI program, and to celebrate the passage of landmark legislation to reauthorize it," Castor told a gathering of about 30 local leaders and Bradenton Village residents. Later she added, "Talk to senators (Mel) Martinez and (Bill) Nelson and encourage them to move this along."
