Clean Energy Tax Resources for Floridians!

Tax season is here, and I’m committed to lowering costs for you and your family! Thanks to historic climate legislation Democrats passed last Congress, dubbed the “Inflation Reduction Act,” there are a host of clean energy and home improvement tax credits available for you to take advantage of this filing season.

These tax credits can help you purchase rooftop solar, Energy Star efficient appliances, and other technologies aimed at slashing electricity bills and reducing harmful air pollution. Collectively, Inflation Reduction Act tax credits are expected to save Americans $38 billion on their electricity bills.

You can join in on these savings by taking advantage of the following credits:

  1. New Electric Vehicle Tax Credit: Up to $7,500
  2. Used Electric Vehicle Tax Credit: Up to $4,000
  3. Electric Vehicle Charger Tax Credit: Up to $1,000
  4. Residential Clean Energy Upgrades Tax Credit: An uncapped 30% tax credit for residential clean energy upgrades such as the purchase or installation of solar panels, solar water heaters, geothermal heat pumps, battery storage systems.
  5. Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Tax Credit: Up to $3,200
  6. And more!

If you weren’t able to take advantage of these benefits this year, you can always access these tax credits for the next tax season. And this is just the beginning. There is much more support on the way for Florida families and businesses to reap the benefits of cleaner, cheaper energy options, including the Inflation Reduction Act’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund

My team and I will continue to highlight new opportunities — and please reach out if we can help you navigate different incentive options.

Below are some additional resources that outline and explain the fuller range of clean energy incentives that were included in Democrats’ landmark climate and clean energy law:
