Congresswoman Kathy Castor released the following statement regarding the President’s Oval Office address:

"President Obama is rightfully concerned about jobs, small businesses and the harm caused to Florida’s improving economy by BP’s oil disaster. BP must bear full financial responsibility for the economic and environmental impact, not our small businesses or taxpayers.

"Floridians must band together to oppose drilling off of our beautiful beaches. It is too risky to our economy and our environment. All Americans must commit to a new clean-energy economy – one that holds great promise for jobs and cost savings in the Sunshine State."
