Former Tampa Mayor Bill Poe was a giant in the development of a modern Tampa and in Florida business. He ushered in a new, professional sensibility into city hall as Tampa changed from a small town to a growing metropolis. He was part of a proud group of Hillsborough High School graduates who became leaders and remained true to the people he loved in his home town.
