Congresswoman Kathy Castor released the following statement today regarding the city of Tampa receiving a $23 million low-interest loan and a $2.5 million grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act:

“Significant investments in our neighborhoods and job creation were our priorities and intentions when we passed the American Recovery and Replacement Act. Replacing water pipelines will create 125 much-needed jobs by the fall, further helping our community on the road to economic recovery. Too often, pipes break, sometimes snarling traffic and disrupting service for our residents. This effort will be a significant step toward putting people back to work while ensuring our city’s water infrastructure is up-to-date and reliable and we have a clean and healthy Tampa Bay.”
