St. Petersburg,
January 13, 2025
Today, U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL-14) announced a special event to honor Vietnam War Veterans with a commemorative pinning ceremony. The event will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg Campus, Nelson Poyner Library, located at 140 Seventh Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701, starting at 10:00 AM. Vietnam-era Veterans who served in the Armed Forces are invited to participate and will receive a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin in recognition of their service. Families of Vietnam Veterans are also encouraged to attend and celebrate the contributions of their loved ones. Due to opposition to the war at the time, many Vietnam-era veterans were not welcomed home and celebrated for their service. Castor seeks to ensure that their service to America is honored. All interested Veterans are asked to RSVP through Castor’s official website at castor.house.gov or by contacting her office at (813) 871-2817. For additional details or questions, please contact Rep. Castor’s office directly. U.S. Representative Kathy Castor’s office is a proud partner of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, a national initiative authorized by Congress to honor veterans who served in Vietnam. Let’s join together to honor the courage and legacy of Tampa Bay’s Vietnam Veterans. |
