U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor to be Honored at YMCA Signature Event

Tampa, FL (Feb. 4, 2019) – U.S. Representative Kathy Castor will receive the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA’s 2019 Community Impact Award on Monday, March 4 at 6:00pm. The Regions Community Impact Dinner will be emceed by ABC Action News’ Good Morning Tampa Bay Anchors Deiah Riley & James Tully at the Pepin’s Hospitality Centre at 4121 N. 50th St. in Tampa. More than 500 guests will enjoy dinner, award presentations and videos showcasing the Tampa YMCA’s real impact on community members.

The Tampa YMCA recognizes and thanks U.S. Rep. Castor for her dedication and positive impact on Tampa Bay residents. Previous recipients of the Community Impact Award include Jeff & Penny Vinik, Doretha Edgecomb, Richard Gonzmart, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Hillsborough County Commissioners Ken Hagan and Sandra Murman, former Florida CFO Alex Sink, former Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio and former Hillsborough County Superintendent MaryEllen Elia. 

Also during the event, Tampa Y Governance Board Member Jill Valenti and her husband, Joe, will receive the Red Triangle Award, given to volunteers whose leadership, dedicated service and devotion to the mission have made significant and lasting impact on the Tampa Y. In addition, 14 Center Volunteers of the Year will be recognized. Special dignitaries will be in attendance, including elected officials from Hillsborough and Pasco counties.

A gift of $2,500+ to the Tampa Y entitles donors to host a table of eight.
