U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL14) released the following statement offering prayer and support following this morning’s shooting involving her colleagues, congressional staff, Capitol Police and others:

“I am praying for friends, colleagues, congressional staff and Capitol Police, as well as any others who were injured or in danger this morning.  As always, I am also grateful for the rapid response by all first responders who are there for all of us at the toughest times, and whose actions likely saved lives and prevented more injuries.  I was in the Capitol around the time of the shooting, and while we are shocked and saddened by another act of violence, we are determined that it will not deter us in any way from our duties.”
