U.S. Representative Kathy Castor along with county and city officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the Hidden River Corporate Park Monday to celebrate a new bus route of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit system.

The new service called MetroRapid North-South runs north on Nebraska Avenue from downtown Tampa, then east along Fletcher Avenue to the vicinity of Telecom Park, just west of I-75, at Hidden River Regional Park-n-Ride.

The service buses are equipped with the Transit Signal Priority system. It can hold the green light longer at the intersections if the bus is running late.
