U.S. Rep. Castor calls on Congress to focus on jobs, not attack women’s health

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Rep. Castor (D-Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL) called on the House Republicans to support bills that promote jobs creation and the economy, not legislation that interferes with medical decisions by women and their doctors and their right to privacy.

“America faces so many challenges today – creating more jobs, boosting economic growth, supporting middle-class families and small businesses, improving our schools and investing in our infrastructure,” U.S. Rep. Castor said today during debate of the HR1797. “But, here in the middle of June, the Republican-controlled Congress has not scheduled any legislation on these important matters. Instead, the House Republican leadership intends to interject themselves into the private medical decisions of women and their doctors.”
