U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor announced today two grants totaling nearly $9 million being directed to Hillsborough Area Regional Transit. The grants will support jobs in our community. “The awarding of these competitive grants to HART is great news,” Castor said. “Approximately $4 million will go toward replacing buses that run on diesel and vans that run on gas with compressed natural gas vehicles. These new vehicles will be good for our environment and will expand HART’s fleet, which is a welcome development for the thousands in our community who rely on public transportation to get to work.” The $4 million grant comes from the Department of Transportation’s Bus Livability Program. |
