Dear Friend,
This week, the House passed a bill to ease the transition of military members into VA health care when they end their active duty service. It is another step to lowering costs for families in a commonsense way. And while I am very disappointed that the Senate blocked the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to strengthen our democracy, I remain optimistic that we can continue to build on other successes from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and American Rescue Plan that make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. President Biden and Vice President Harris are marking one year in office with real results: widespread covid vaccinations, emergency aid to keep kids in school safely, the extraordinary lifeline for small businesses, the tax cut for most families with children, tax credits for affordable health care, rental help for neighbors – all of which served as a bridge to get through the pandemic.
I am committed to working alongside the White House to lower costs and deliver the important policies in the Build Back Better Act like lower cost clean energy, universal Pre-K and lower prescription drug costs.
