The Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit makes it more affordable for Americans to complete home weatherization projects and complete other upgrades to improve home energy efficiency.

Weatherization upgrades include improvements like insulation and air sealing, and the energy efficiency tax credit can also be used for qualifying windows, skylights, and exterior doors.

Homeowners can save 30% on the purchase and installation of:

  • Rooftop solar and batteries
  • HVAC heat pump air conditioners and water heaters; and
  • Home improvements including a home energy audit; new exterior doors, windows and skylights; insulation; and an upgraded electrical panel.

The credit has no lifetime dollar limit. You can claim up to $3,200 in credit every year for eligible improvements until 2033.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are more efficient than gas-powered cars and trucks and better for the environment, too. Buying an EV is a great first step on the path to electrifying everything! Many EVs on the market today have a range of more than 250 miles on a single charge. Electrifying your driving can save you over $1,000 a year!

It is easy to save the planet and your pocketbook at the same time with cleaner, cheaper energy appliances, all while enjoying the quality and performance of the product!

Induction and conventional electric stoves are the best way to cook. They don’t burn fossil fuels or release toxic pollutants into your home and the environment. Same with clean energy washer and dryers - they save 20-60% energy compared to conventional clothes dryers.

Coming next year, an ENERGY STAR certified electric stove/oven, induction cooktop, or heat pump clothes dryer will qualify for either:

  • A Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate of up to $840, OR
  • A Home Efficiency Rebate, which provides up to $8,000 off projects that significantly reduce household energy use.
