But affordable health care is closer than many people think. Tomorrow marks the grand opening of an East Tampa health clinic that takes in patients regardless of whether or not they’re covered.

Port Manatee to Receive $9 Million Grant

Congresswoman Kathy Castor announced today that Port Manatee is receiving $9 million to expand infrastructure at the port, which will help create more than 1,000 jobs in our community. The Manatee County Port Authority and the Brownsville Navigation District of Texas are receiving a Transportation Investment Generating Economy Recovery (TIGER II) grant to more efficiently move freight along the Marine Highway system.

Castor Hails Clean-Energy Jobs

Congresswoman Kathy Castor hailed today the clean-energy jobs being created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant initiative. Through this initiative, Hillsborough County has received $7.7 million and today they debuted new solar panels atop the old main courthouse.
