WASHINGTON (January 30, 2020) - U.S. Representative Kathy Castor (FL-14), chair of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, has invited Gina McCarthy, former administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and current president and C.E.O. of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), as her guest for the 2020 State of the Union address, which will take place next Tuesday, February 4.

"I'm proud to stand with environmental champion Gina McCarthy, who has devoted her professional career to public health and the public interest. As a former EPA Administrator, Gina McCarthy developed innovative climate solutions and staunchly defended our right to clean air and water," said Congresswoman Castor. "For over three decades, Gina has championed environmental policies to reduce carbon pollution and safeguard our kids' health. I'm grateful to have a champion like her in our corner as we lead the fight for climate action to protect the health of all Americans, particularly as President Trump has repeatedly sided with polluters and heaped costs on families across America."
