Solving the Climate Crisis: Cleaner, Stronger Buildings
The House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis will hold a hearing titled “Solving the Climate Crisis: Cleaner, Stronger Buildings” on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 9 a.m. in Room 2020 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The hearing is focused on reducing carbon pollution and improving resilience in residential and commercial buildings across the nation, one of the keys to fighting the climate crisis.

Dr. Khalil Shahyd, Senior Policy Advocate for the Healthy People & Thriving Communities Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council (@NRDC). Dr. Shahyd works to advance federal policy supporting energy efficiency programs targeting the affordable multi-family housing sector.
Roy Wright, President of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (@disastersafety), a nonprofit organization that researches building safety in order to create more resilient communities. Wright has over two decades of experience in risk management, mitigation, and resilience planning.
Jimmy Rutland, President of Lowder New Homes, one of the largest home builders in the state of Alabama. Rutland will speak on behalf of the National Association of Home Builders (@NAHBHome).
