Solving the Climate Crisis: Opportunities in Agriculture
WASHINGTON - The House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis will hold a hearing on “Solving the Climate Crisis: Opportunities in Agriculture” on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in Room 210 of the Cannon House Office Building.
The hearing will focus on the potential of agriculture to help in the fight against the climate crisis.

Dr. Jennifer Moore-Kucera, Climate Initiative Director, American Farmland Trust (@JenKucera1; @Farmland). Dr. Moore-Kucera oversees AFT’s efforts to help states develop innovative policies and programs that can maximize agricultural opportunities to combat the climate crisis.

Fred Yoder, Farmer & Co-Chair, Solutions from the Land (@SfLDialogue). SfL advocates for innovative agricultural solutions to sustain productivity, enhance climate resilience and help the U.S. reach sustainable development goals. Yoder himself is a fourth-generation farmer who has operated a retail farm seed business for over 35 years.
Tina Owens, Senior Director of Agricultural Funding and Communications, Danone North America (@DanoneNA). Owens' work focuses on regenerative agriculture practices, farmer resiliency and regenerative financing. She has spent two decades leading sustainability and strategic efforts in the food industry.
Viral Amin, Vice President of Commercial Development & Strategy, DTE Energy's Power & Industrial Group (@DTE_Energy). DTE Energy operates a dairy-based renewable natural gas processing facility in Wisconsin, which uses gas generated from dairy cow waste as a fuel to power compressed natural gas vehicles.
